Settecento33 as Best Sparkling Wine

More than 2,700 wines competed against each other in Vintaly’s annual “5 Star Wines – the Book” competition, a blind tasting by a panel of highly-qualified professional tasters who assign scores and special trophies, including Best Sparkling Wine.
Growing-season weather conditions over the past few years made it possible for Durella, a native grape variety cultivated in the Monti Lessini at elevations averaging 300 metres, to achieve exceptional balance of its components. Its delightful crispness finds a perfect complement in the impressive breadth of its palate, and this near-ideal equilibrium won for Lessini Durello Settecento33 that prestigious title.
«Its being judged the overall finest sparkling wine – commented Cantina di Soave General Manager Bruno Trentini – is extremely important not merely for us, but for the entire Lessini Durello DOC growing area, a small denomination of tremendous quality that we have always believed in. With regard to our Settecento33 sparkling wine, it has always been our standard-bearer, and it can by now be found in all of Italy’s top restaurants and clubs. I have to say that it is becoming a true benchmark on the Italian sparkling scene, and it is creating its own unique lifestyle within the world of sparkling wine».
The wine
Settecento33 Lessini Durello DOC boasts a wide array of aromatic qualities, ranging through intriguing woodsy impressions classic to the Lessinia area, such as elderflower and hawthorn, as well as delicate citrusy notes of citron and yellow grapefruit that give the palate its inimitable tangy crispness. The bead displays a cascade of leisurely, pin-point bubbles.
Straightforward, delicious, and elegant, yet at the same time lively and decisive.
Settecento33 is the perfect aperitif wine yet can be enjoyed with all the courses of a meal.
