Excellent Results for Cantina di Soave
In the Top 2017 International Wine Competitions

Press Release

A veritable blossoming-out of awards for Cantina di Soave! Spring brought its annual first-fruits from prestigious wine competitions, whose results are considered carry great weight both in Italy and on an international level, since the juries, which have the responsibility of judging tens of thousands of wines, are composed of the most qualified experts in the field of wine.

Here are the main medals awarded our wines:

ROCCA SVEVA
With respect to our flagship Rocca Sveva line, Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG 2011 was awarded the Silver Medal by Decanter, the International Wine Challenge (IWC) and by the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC). Our Soave Classico DOC 2016 displayed the same enviable consistency, winning a Bronze Medal in the same competitions.

CADIS
Our Cadis line, distributed through the modern wholesale channel, garnered outstanding honours, particularly for its Valpolicella red wines. Amarone DOCG 2014 won the Silver Medal in the Mundus Vini, the International Wine Challenge (IWC) and in the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC).
Ripasso della Valpolicella Ripasso DOC 2015 repeated the same feat in in the Mundus Vini, the International Wine Challenge and was awarded the Bronze Medal by the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC).

DUCA DEL FRASSINO and VILLA RASINA
Our Soave Classico DOC 2016 wines merit separate mention, both in the Duca Del Frassino and in the Villa Rasina lines, since Decanter and the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) awarded both of them the Bronze Medal, and Duca Del Frassino took home the same medal from the International Wine Challenge (IWC).

ROCCA ALATA
The Rocca Alata line, available in Italy exclusively in the Esselunga stores, performed equally impressively. In the International Wine Challenge (IWC), Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2014 was awarded the Gold Medal, as well as the Trophy for the Beat Amarone, the competition’s highest honour. That same Amarone conquered the Silver Medal at Mundus Vini and the Silver Outstanding at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC).
Top honours too went to Ripasso della Valpolicella Rocca Alata DOC 2015, on which Mundus Vini bestowed its Gold Medal, the International Wine Challenge (IWC) its Silver Medal, and the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) its Bronze Medal.

“These awards are particularly significant and gratifying,“ commented Bruno Trentini, Cantina di Soave General Manager, “since they cut across our various wine lines and since the awards from multiple competitions reinforce the value of each medal; it is no coincidence when different juries are impressed by the same wines. We are immensely proud of this “harvest.” These medals pay tribute to the entire Cantina di Soave, in fact, and are a result of our ceaseless, and successful, commitment to promoting our growing area and its denominations.”
